Luminor

Back in 1993, the watch manufacturer Panerai decided to launch a watch edition under the name Panerai Luminor. The owner of such a watch can enjoy noble models made of titanium, red gold or white gold, as well as steel. The case backs are screwed. For the case backs, the manufacturer consistently resorts to excellently processed steel or titanium. The contemporary collection is notable for its large numerals and hands. This is where the eponymous Luminor luminous material comes into play. This is the luminous material that allows you to see the dial even in deep darkness. The watches in this series are suitable for extreme water depths. The Submersible 1950 3 Days Automatic Titano is designed for water depths of up to 300 meters. These luxury watches are all characterized by brilliant beauty and high functionality. This is due in no small part to the built-in Glucydur® balance wheels that oscillate 28,800 times per hour.

The manufacturer

Going back to 1940, the Panerai Luminor series is a watch originally designed for the Italian Navy. The beauty and functionality of these models did the rest to make these specimens legendary. Initially, only 350 pieces of this model were created. It went down in history under the name of Panerai Radiomir. Its distinguishing feature was, among other things, that the dial of the watch was already very visible even under the most unfavorable visibility conditions. The manufacturer originally used radium as the luminous substance. This was replaced by Luminor in 1949. The Luminor 1950 was created. In 1993, Panerai introduced 3 model series to the public. Including the model series Panerai Luminor described here, the series Luminor Marina as well as the Panerai Mare Nostrum. On each occasion, the manufacturer took its cue from the previous models designed for naval use. What distinguishes all models of this manufacturer is the crown protection bridge, typical for Panerai. Its main purpose is to protect the crown, and especially against the entry of water. As befits luxury watches, Panerai watches are full of the best technical details.

The models regularly have subdials and fine date displays. Small details here are such as a magnifying glass in the anti-reflective noble sapphire crystal, under which the date display is located. The regular 3.5-mm thick sapphire crystal can, of course, withstand water pressure to depths of 300 meters. In general, the luxury of these watches comes out in extravagant little things. For example, the bridges and the oscillating weight bear the signature of the manufacturer Panerai. Another advantage of these luxury watches is their stable value. The steel used in the manufacture of such a luxury watch was designed for naval use in earlier times. Thus, the contemporary models are also absolutely stainless. The godfather for this is the stainless AISI 316L 1.4435 steel. Each model from Panerai is thus not only corrosion-resistant, but also hypoallergenic. Such a luxury watch from Panerai is consequently very skin-friendly. This austenitic stainless steel alloy is the focal point in the production of the various models of this manufacturer, and not for nothing. Conclusion: technical and aesthetic exclusivity go hand in hand in these luxury watches. Each model is one for several genetrations and unique.
