NOMOS Glashütte Autobahn

With the NOMOS Glashütte Autobahn, renowned product designer Werner Aisslinger has created a sporty, elegant automatic watch characterized by racy curves, clear shapes, a novel display and perfect surfaces. Everything about the watch expresses movement. The glass is made of domed and anti-reflective sapphire crystal, and the dial and small seconds are also domed, giving the watch an appropriate dynamism. A luminous ring of Superluminova fields, inspired by a tachometer, makes the watch readable even in the dark.

Technology

The watch is equipped with the new, innovative NOMOS caliber neomatik Datum (DUW 6101). The large movement is extremely flat at 3.6 millimeters. Its innovative design allows the date to be set in both directions.

Glashütte

For over 170 years, world-class timepieces have been made in the small Saxon town of Glashütte, a place steeped in watchmaking tradition. The watchmakers who work here are among the best in their guild. There are few products in the world that are as strictly protected as watches from Glashütte. Strict rules apply to the "Glashütte" designation of origin. For example, at least 50 percent of the value added to the caliber must be produced locally in Glashütte. NOMOS Glashütte achieves up to 95 percent instead of the required 50 percent.

Company history of NOMOS Glashüttee

NOMOS Glashütte was founded in 1990 by Roland Schwertner and has deep roots in Glashütte. All creative work that is not directly related to the construction of watches takes place in the company's own design studio in Berlin-Kreuzberg. The watches are often designed in collaboration with well-known designers such as Mark Braun or Werner Aisslinger. Today NOMOS is the largest manufacturer of mechanical watches in Germany.
